Oxford is a lovely looking city. Sadly I didn’t get chance to go on one of the punts.
Perched on top of Liberty, the mock Tudor department store, is this golden boat. A bit of research has shown that the timbers on the exterior of the building were from two old navy boats, and I can only assume this is a replica of one of those.

Seen while walking along the Thames in Hampton.
It’s not often the words ‘boat’ and ‘trumpet’ go together but… this boat has its own trumpeters.
A free ticket to the Jubilee at Battersea Park led to these two snaps. The top one has the Queen arriving on a small boat, and in the second is Kate and Harry chatting to some guy (look for the red dress, and the grey hat in the centre).
Despite the rain and the monumental queuing, I’m quite surprised at how well these turned out (although the first is sadly blurred) – image stabilisation, a flip-out screen, and being tall are wonders for such events.
This area seem peaceful, even on an insanely busy day in the park.
