Marc Quinn Rights

I didn’t know what it was during the Paralympic ceremony, but later research has shown that this is a replica of a Marc Quinn statue of pregnant disabled artist Alison Lapper, and was originally displayed on the fourth plinth at Trafalgar Square.

The speed at which this statue appeared was astonishing – it’s an inflatable.

    1. What with the noise and general chaos it’s hard to tell what people thought – things moved so fast! From the distance and angle of my view I couldn’t tell if it was a man or woman. It’s only afterwards, having seen the image from my camera’s zoom, and having seen other views from the side, that you understand better.
