Jordan Avery is a designer and writer based in Portland, Oregon, where the steady rain and strong coffee keep ideas flowing. Over the past decade they've worked across product design, illustration, and the occasional zine, always drawn to the small details that make everyday things feel a little more human. When a project lets them blend words and visuals, that's where they're happiest. Outside of work, Jordan can usually be found tending an overambitious balcony garden, hunting down the city's best dumplings, or getting pleasantly lost on weekend hikes. They believe good work comes from curiosity, generosity, and a willingness to start before you feel ready — and they're always up for a conversation about typography, trail snacks, or whatever they're currently overthinking.

Pumpkins

The Whole Foods on Kensington High Street is a wonderland of food and I can’t help but feel like I’ve stepped into Willie Wonka’s factory. The pumpkin section has some of the most alien looking vegetables I’ve seen.

My Old Dutch

I’ve walked past My Old Dutch, just off Kensington Hight Street, so many times and have never been in until now. As you would expect, it’s a very Dutch themed pancake restaurant with lots of sweet and savoury options.
