Taking you from Embankment to the South Bank is Hungerford bridge, looking a lot better since it’s renewal in 2000. It’s also a great place to view the river and the sites around it.
A vast building. On one of the floors there is a door leading to a balcony where you can look out directly over Millenium Bridge at St. Pauls.
Shorter days in winter mean you can get some fantastic early sunsets. Here looking out over Big Ben (or Elizabeth Tower if you are technically a pedant).
Down by the touristy Fisherman’s Wharf is a marina with a lot of boats. Be careful though, you may run into the bush man!
A little meaty for my tastes, but the interior is certainly set to impress, and the service is impeccable. Located on Berners Street, not far from Oxford Street.

While San Francisco is full of old wooden Victorian buildings, the financial district is a bit more modern. This is the view from the Ferry Building. There are a lot of windows about.
