An old man in Chaozhou is sorting tea (although he could just have fallen asleep).
This shop is perfect, if you want a drink or a smoke.
I love eating these beans (Gan bian si ji dou). Despite all the chillies they’re not super spicy, and the salty garlic heat makes them very addictive.
There’s more going on here than ‘please hit my tambourine with a flower’. Seen on the very top of a temple in Tian Tang Park, Shantou.
I have no idea what this is called, but on the other side of a lake behind Shantou University is this amazing temple. It’s being constructed using traditional techniques, and with donations from the local community. The ornamentation on the roof is all hand-painted porcelain.
I don’t know if this is intentional. It even has eyelashes! Seen in Tian Tang park.
I think this is one of those things where it’s best not to ask. Seen in Zhong Shan Park, Shantou.
