St. Pancras Olympic rings

Forgive me for another Olympic-based photo – it will all be over very soon! These are the rings that greet visitors from the North of England and on the Eurostar at St. Pancras station.

I’ve spent many hours waiting for trains in the dark dingy Victorian part of the station, reading Dickens novels and feeling like I was in another London. A few years back they cleaned it all up, turned it into a hotel (the original building is ridiculously pretty for a train station), and moved the trains into this shiny modern extension.

I’d love to see what became of the old platforms.
