Shinkansen

These trains are amazing (in my best ‘I’ve made a blog post about a train’ voice).

They slide into the station (Tokyo Station, in this instance) and an army of cleaners board, frantically clean, and then switch all the seats round. Some other people with white gloves do all kinds of pointing (for an inspection, of some kind), and the train slides out of the station.

As it speeds along you may notice that the staff bow once when entering a carriage and once when leaving. Everything is taken very seriously.

When you arrive at your station you’d better be quick leaving as you only get a few minutes before it continues on it’s precise schedule.
